For example, characters like Golu or Beena (Mirzapur) are breaking stereotypes but how are they being accepted?”
“I don’t usually read comments because it’s keechad (mud). People are saying some horrible things and I wonder, ‘Why would you do that? Are you insecure that a girl who is 5 feet doesn’t let her ambitions or desires be limited?’ We are not used to women talking about their desires, whether it is political or sexual or any desire,” she adds.
When asked about any of his roles that inspire him, the actor says, “All of them. When you spend so much time (with a character), they definitely leave an impression on you and they take a little part of you with them. Since one of the most recent characters I played is Golu from Mirzapur, which is one of the most complex and intriguing and beautiful characters I have played or seen, I have learned a lot from him.”
