Nationalist Congress Party chief Ajit Pawar has emerged as one of the biggest winners in the Maharashtra Assembly elections, winning 41 of the 58 seats contested by his party.
Not long ago, during the Lok Sabha elections, Ajit Pawar’s party managed to win just one of the four seats it contested, while NCP’s Sharad Pawar won eight of the 10 seats.
Many critics of Ajit Pawar started writing obituaries for him and claimed that NCP could not exist without Sharad Pawar.
However, Ajit Pawar has proved all the critics wrong. At the time of writing, the party had won or was leading in 71 percent of the seats it contested.
How did this change come about, that too in about five months?
Central to the turnaround in Ajit Pawar’s fortunes was the political consultancy company handling his campaign – Designboxed, which has so far mostly worked with senior Congress leaders like DK Shivakumar, Ashok Gehlot, TS Singh Deo and some Congress state units.
Company co-founder Naresh Arora had stationed himself in Maharashtra for the last four months and managed every aspect of Ajit Pawar’s campaign. There are broadly six aspects to his intervention.
