1. No, this video does not show Muslims attacking Devi Kali temple in Bangladesh
A video went viral on social media, claiming to show Muslims attacking temples and destroying the idol of Goddess Kali in Bangladesh.
The sharer wrote, “Islamists in Bangladesh are attacking Hindu temples, vandalizing deities, while their leaders are earning tons of cash by importing essential food items including potatoes, spices, pulses, eggs etc from India Are.”
However, the claim is false.
This footage is actually from Sultanpur in West Bengal and has no connection with Bangladesh. It depicts people participating in the immersion ceremony of Goddess Kali.

2. Has the Andhra Pradesh government abolished the State Waqf Board? No, the claim is misleading
A claim is circulating on social media platforms that the Telugu Desam Party (TDP)-led Andhra Pradesh government has recently dissolved the state’s Waqf Board.
Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) IT Cell ChiefAmit MalviyaShared a similar claim on its official X (formerly Twitter) handle. “The Andhra Pradesh government abolished the Waqf Board. There is no provision in the Constitution that supports the existence of one in secular India,” he said.
No, the claim is misleading. The Government of Andhra Pradesh dissolved the present Waqf Board due to various legal and administrative issues.
The fact-checking wing of the state administration announced that a new Waqf Board would soon be formed.

3. Altered video of Pankaj Tripathi mocking BJP shared by AAP
A viral video is circulating on the internet in which Bollywood actor Pankaj Tripathi is campaigning against BJP in an advertisement.
In the video, Tripathi plays the role of a peanut seller and says, “I sell peanuts, not my intelligence. Take a look at this message of BJP. It is written, ‘Vote us, we will bring development.’ Do you think I’m ignorant? I vote for them and government funds disappear. I may be a peanut seller, but I’m no fool. If the BJP tries to woo you, remember to say, ‘I am not a fool.’
This video has been modified to show ‘Vote for BJP’ on the phone screen.
However it has been modified with Artificial Intelligence (AI) to change Tripathi’s original lines to express views contrary to the BJP.
In the original video, Tripathi talks about UPI fraud for “UPI” Chalega,” and nothing about BJP. The video was shared by the actor and UPI Chalega’s Page.

4. Fact-check: False claim of removing India from BRICS Core Committee goes viral
Sharing a picture of Russian President Vladimir Putin and Chinese President Xi Jinping, a claim is going viral that India has been removed from the “Core Committee” of Brazil, Russia, India, China, South Africa, Iran, Egypt, Ethiopia. United Arab Emirates (BRICS) on social media platforms.
We found no evidence to prove the validity of the claim. The BRICS website has the latest reports mentioning deals and working agreements between India and other BRICS countries.

5. Clip of flooded road amid Cyclone Fengal wrongly shared as Chennai
While Cyclone Fengal remained in Sri Lanka, some areas of Tamil Nadu and Karnataka faced rough seas, high winds and floods.
Meanwhile, a video went viral on social media, in which it is claimed that the roads are flooded and it is from Marina Beach in Chennai.
The claim is false. The video is from Jeddah, Saudi Arabia when the place received heavy rains in September 2024.
