How do we find out the truth?: We did a reverse image search on one of the photos using Google, which led us to an X (formerly Twitter) post that was shared. Zee News,
It showed the same pictures and mentioned that it showed SP chief Akhilesh Yadav taking a dip in river Ganga on the occasion of Makar Sankranti and pictures of the same were also shared.
Taking a cue from this, we saw the same visuals on Yadav’s social media accounts and found these pictures on his X account.
He had shared these a day earlier on January 14 with a caption in Hindi that roughly translates to, “Taken.” Mother Blessings of Ganga on the auspicious occasion of Makar Sankranti.”
As of 19 January, there is no visual or news report about Yadav attending the 2025 Maha Kumbh Mela.
conclusion: A set of photographs were shared with the false claim that SP leader Akhilesh Yadav had attended the Kumbh Mela.
