If we talk only about the 5 largest economies of the world, then India’s employees are at the top with an average of 46.7 hours of work every week. At the second position are Chinese employees who work an average of 46.1 hours every week. In America they work an average of 36 hours and in Germany they work an average of 34.2 hours every week.
But, but, but… the working hours are long, but the money? If we talk about minimum monthly earnings in India, then here it is only 222 dollars i.e. Rs 19,177 as of now. Whereas only 8.8% of France’s workforce works 49 or more hours every week. Whereas the minimum monthly earnings there are 2,016 dollars, which means Rs 1,74,151.
Watch each story of the difference between money and working hours. In March 2024. PAIGAM (People’s Association in Grassroots Action and Movements) and Indian Federation of App-based Transport Workers conducted a survey on drivers and delivery persons of app-based cab services like Ola, Uber. In which it was found that 43 percent of the cab drivers earn less than Rs 500 every day and 72 percent of the drivers were not able to meet the monthly expenses with their earnings.
