50 -year -old Kamta Prasad ran an electronics shop and was the only acquired member of his family. He is alive by his wife, three daughters and a son.
Talking to Quint Hindi, his eldest daughter, Rajni Pal said,
“Papa had only one earning in our family. Now, we have no one. I don’t know how we will live. Just five months ago, we spent 10 lakhs in our sister’s wedding, and that debt became unpaid. Has been my younger brother.
Despite the police request, Mansingh demanded a post -mortem. The family had not yet received the post -mortem report until this report was published.
When the allegations were questioned, the police officer in charge of Akhara (Sector 18), Bhaskar Mishra denied any wrongdoing. He claimed that Kamta Prasad’s death was 2–2.5 km from the stampede site, inside Mahanarwani Akhara.
“He was part of a group of 11-12 people living in Akhara. On January 29 at around 3:30 pm, he suffered a heart attack there. A doctor tried the present CPR, but could not be saved. We could not be saved. We could not be saved. We could not be saved. We could not be saved. Information received at 4:30 pm.
Dismissing the family’s allegations, he said, “Why would I force him to write that he died of a heart attack? He submitted an application, and I acted accordingly.”
He said, “What will the police do with a dead body? We operate 4-5 post-mortem daily. They are just after ₹ 25 lakhs,” he said.
Mishra further said that he was informed about the death by Mahant Yamuna Puri Maharaj, secretary of Mahanirwani Akhara. However, when Quint Hindi contacted Mahanta, he presented a separate version of the events.
“They were not living in Akhara; they were passing on the nearby road. A doctor living in our Akhara tried CPR. Death was natural, not due to stampede. Sangam is 2–2.5 km from here. The body did not see, but it is possible that the family is making these claims for financial compensation, “he said.
