1. Middle class left together
Middle class had a big hand in the Aam Aadmi Party’s bumper victory in the 2015 and 2020 Delhi assembly elections. But it is clear from the results of this time that this vote bank has shifted to the Bharatiya Janata Party.
West Delhi, South Delhi, Central Delhi, East Delhi and New Delhi are areas where middle class voters are in large numbers. In 2020, the Aam Aadmi Party won about 30 seats in these areas. But this time BJP has gained an edge.
On the other hand, the decision to make the earnings of up to 12 lakh tax free in the Union Budget has proved to be a master stroke for the BJP. This decision of the central government sent a positive message in the middle class, which has benefited the party in the elections.
2. Purvanchali voters also splash
Purvanchali voters have also given a shock to the Aam Aadmi Party in this election. There are about 30 percent of Purvanchali voters in Delhi. Purvanchalis supported Kejriwal in the last two elections. But this time Purvanchali voters have left the broom and lifted the lotus mark.
If we talk about the last assembly election, the Aam Aadmi Party had won a big win over 17 of the 20 seats. At the same time, BJP’s figure was reduced to three. However, this time BJP has made a comeback.
