In the 2020 assembly elections, 1,46,122 were registered as voters in the New Delhi constituency.
When the 2024 Lok Sabha elections were held, the number of registered voters was reduced, lack of 39,757 votes, and about 27.2 percent. This means that 27.2 voters eligible to vote in 2020, were no longer in the list of voters in 2024.
Please note, we are referring to the total number of voters listed in that seat and not those who really voted.
The total number of voters in New Delhi increased by 2,209 between 2024 Lok Sabha elections and 2025 assembly elections. So even though one compared the total number of voters between 2020 and 2025 assembly elections, the total shortage is more than 37,000 votes or 25.7 percent. Then this means that one of the four voters who were part of the list of voters in 2020 were removed by 2025.
During the election campaign in Delhi, AAP accused the BJP of incorrectly removing voters in constituencies such as New Delhi and Shahdara.
