Avinash Satyapati alias Kiran, who is doing BSc from SGBT Khalsa College in DU, was also detained by the police for making wall petting in JNU. He alleges, “The police slapped us, abused us in the police station. Hit my back on my back.”
In a conversation with The Quint, ACP Satyajit Sarin of Vasant Kunj Sub Division has also denied these allegations. He said, “This is all nonsense. Our police is very sensitive. Our SHO is so educated that they can never do such work.”
On the matter of bleeding from the ear of a student, he says, “When they saw the police, they ran towards the bushes. They were expelled from there. Due to the thorns, they have scratched it. Some of the police assault Has not happened.”
The students were released at around 8 pm on Tuesday evening after being detained for about 15 hours.
“Why are you talking about Bastar by staying in Delhi?”
Gaurav explains, “The police ask us many types of questions. We are asked why you are talking about Bastar at the time of elections? Why did you enter JNU?”
You guys stop talking about Bastar. “
Gaurav says that some people come to the police station in a civil dress between 9:30 in the morning. There is a mask on his face. We ask them about them, but they do not introduce themselves.
Kiran says that “He questioned us for three consecutive compills. We were being asked such questions as we are Naxalites. People in civil dress also abused us.”
Gaurang says that the people in the mask asked him about his family. The details of the family were sought. He further says, “Those people were repeatedly telling us that our organization is associated with a banned organization. They were asking us where you come from. Similar questions were being asked us.”
