This incident is of 1 February 2025. For the last one year, the body of the 12th student, who was preparing for NEET for the last one year, was found in suspicious circumstances at Rameswaram Girls Hostel in Bhelupur. The family lodged a complaint at Bhelupur police station on 1 February, alleging murder. The deceased student was a resident of Rohtas district of Bihar.
However, the police then refused to register an FIR, stating that the police had committed suicide. Talking to The Quint, the father of the deceased accused the police of not lodging an FIR for 9 days despite lodging the complaint. However, on 10 February, BHELpur police have registered a case against the hostel operator under Section 301 (1) of the Indian Penal Code.
