Isla Fisher has shared a message of hope following her shock split from Sacha Baron Cohen after 13 years of marriage.
The Australian actress shared a post to her Instagram Stories this week which read: “Don’t be scared to start over, you might like your new story better.”
Fisher, 49, is currently on the Gold Coast filming a movie called Spa Weekend also starring Leslie Mann, Michelle Buteau and Anna Faris.

The movie follows three best friends who travel to a luxury spa in Palm Springs only to have their trip crashed by their messy friend.
Fisher has been sharing glimpses during her time on the Gold Coast including photos showing her walking along the beach, and in hair and makeup and during filming.

For the scene, Fisher is wearing a lavish gown and in the image she shared a small portable fan is visible between her legs to ward off the Gold Coast heat.
She captioned this image: “I have a fan between my legs.”
A release date for the move is yet to be confirmed.

Fisher and Cohen confirmed their split in a joint statement released in 2024 alongside a photo of the couple dressed in tennis gear.
It read: “After a long tennis match lasting over 20 years, we are finally putting our racquets down.”
“In 2023 we jointly filed to end our marriage,” it continued. “We have always prioritised our privacy, and have been quietly working through this change.”

The split continues to be amicable, with Baron Cohen commenting on a social media post by Fisher showing an image from a recent photoshoot for Style magazine.
Baron Cohen ‘liked’ the photo and commented, “Stunning photoshoot”, to which Fisher responded, “Thank you” alongside a blushing emoji.
Fisher spoke about the split during an interview with The Sunday Times ahead of the release of her latest movie Bridget Jones: Mad About the Boy.
“The women in my life have held me,” she said.
“The female relationships I cultivated in our business, those women have been there for me.
“I’m actually going to get emotional. I’m sitting here today because of them.”

“I’ve learnt so much about the power of female friendship and I’ve just learnt that I do have resilience, who I am outside of a partnership, and what my values are,” she said.
She added while the split is “the most difficult thing” she’s been though she’s “learnt so much about myself in the process”.
“I never imagined my family being separated but we are committed and loving parents,” she said.
Both Fisher and Baron Cohen are based in London where they co-parent their three children Olive, 17, Elula, 14, and Montgomery, 10.
