Many of us have a Zoom horror story, whether it be accidently turning your microphone on at the worst time or being interrupted by a family member in the middle of a meeting.
But it’s not every day you have an embarrassing mishap while calling an A-list celebrity.
Earlier in the week, radio star Mitch Churi went through the archives to bring back an embarrassing old interview clip with Grammy-winning singer Miley Cyrus.

In the video shared to his Instagram grid, Churi had logged on to the virtual interview early, and thinking he was alone, was in complete casual mode with his camera on.
He coughed, sneezed, and had a scroll on his phone as he waited for the star to log on.
But unbeknownst to Churi, Cyrus had joined the call early from Los Angeles and witnessed everything.
“Hello,” the pop star said, alerting Churi he was in fact not alone like he thought.

“That clip would haunt me for days,” Today Extra host David Campbell quipped while speaking to Churi about his unlucky start to the interview.
Churi even joked his sneeze went “cross-continent through the webcam into her face.”
Explaining how it all went wrong, the presenter said he was placed in a waiting room.

This is where usually a publicist will join before then adding the celebrity to the call.
“So, I see a name pop up like George Smith with no webcam on, and I assume it’s a publicist,” he recalled thinking at the time.
“And I’m just waiting for Miley to join. So I keep my head down. Her camera comes on.

“I don’t realise it’s Miley Cyrus, and I leave her sitting there waiting. It’s ridiculous.”
Despite an awkward start, Churi said the rest of the interview went “amazing”.
But after hanging up the call, he had a surprise waiting for him in his inbox.

“She sent a little DM after. She thinks it’s funny,” he revealed.
Turns out Cyrus could appreciate the hilarity of the moment.
Cyrus is best known for her music career, with chart-topping hits like Party in the U.S.A, Wrecking Ball, and her Grammy-winning track Flowers.
The singer is the daughter of country star Billy Ray Cyrus and rose to fame as a teen on the Disney Channel series, Hannah Montana.
