Destiny’s Child singer Michelle Williams has shared a tongue-in-cheek video after she was confused for the Hollywood actress of the same name by a German fan.
The singer, 45, told her 1.3 million followers about the fan mail mishap, explaining a man named Phillip sent her a sweet letter and pictures to sign – but they were of the Dawson’s Creek star Michelle Williams, 44.
“This is great, absolutely phenomenal, absolutely great,” Michelle says in the clip.

”And so I received this letter and I can’t wait to dig in and tell you guys what it says.
”It says, ‘Dear Michelle Williams, I hope this letter finds you in great spirits. My name is Phillip, and I have been an avid fan of your incredible performances in both film and theater.'”
The letter read fine at the beginning, as Michelle is currently performing in the musical Death Becomes Her.

But soon it became obvious the fan got mixed up.
”Your work in movies like Blue Valentine, Manchester By The Sea, and The Greatest Showman has deeply moved me and others, showcasing your exceptional talent,” he wrote, referencing the actress’ movies.
He went on to ask her for her autograph, but then mentioned the Death Becomes Her stage show, seemingly confused.
”Furthermore, I wish you the best and much success with your current production of Death Becomes Her at the Lunt-Fontanne Theatre.
“I am sure that your captivating performances will leave a lasting impression on the audience.”
Singer Michelle then held up to the camera the photos the fan asked her to sign, which were all of the actress.
“Thank you Phillip, thank you so much,” she said dryly, adding about her fellow star, “Her hair is fabulous.”
