Pakistan and India might be divided by borders, but the artists from the two nations have always shared a close bond. For decades, actors from Pakistan used to work and share heartwarming stories about their experiences. One such actor is Javed Sheikh, who has worked in Indian films like Jaan-E-Mann, Apne, Namastey London, Om Shanti Om, and more. However, his experience wasn’t all good because he recently admitted that he found Emraan Hashmi cold and rude during the shoot of their 2008 film, Jannat. In a recent interview, Javed Sheikh shared details about the same and revealed how he sought revenge on him.
Javed Sheikh recalls Emraan Hashmi was cold and disrespectful towards him
Javed Sheikh recently sat down for a conversation on a private TV channel’s Ramadan transmission. During his conversation, he recalled an incident from his work experience in India during the shooting of the 2008 film, Jannat, co-starring Emraan Hashmi, Randeep Hooda and Esha Gupta. The actor revealed that when he signed Mahesh Bhatt’s film and went on to begin his work, he didn’t get a chance to meet Emraan. In his words:
“Mahesh Bhatt was the producer and got a new director on board, Kunal, to direct the project. He explained the entire plot and everything to me when I signed the project, but I had not had an opportunity to meet Emraan Hashmi until then.”
Later, when he flew down to South Africa to start the film shooting, he got a chance to meet Emraan at Newlands Cricket Stadium. When the director introduced them, and he went ahead to meet the young actor, he found that he was cold towards him. At the same time, Emraan wasn’t keen on meeting him and quickly turned his face away. Consequently, Javed admitted that he was affected by Emraan’s behaviour as the biggest actors like Salman and Shah Rukh treated him with respect. Recalling the incident, he said:
“I tried to hand-shake hands with him but noticed a very cold response from his side. He shook hands dismissively and turned his face away, which really irked me. I thought to myself, ‘Big stars like Shah Rukh Khan, Akshay Kumar and Salman Khan respect me so much, and this young guy has this attitude. What does he think of himself?'”
Javed Sheikh shares how he took a ‘soft revenge’ on Emraan Hashmi
In the same conversation, Javed Sheikh mentioned that he was hurt by Emraan’s behaviour to the extent that he decided to seek ‘soft revenge’ on him. Later, when the director asked him to go to Emraan for rehearsal, he refused. Rather, he demanded that the Murder actor come to him, and the young actor had to abide by it. Javed said:
“When he (Emraan) came, I did the rehearsal but didn’t bother to even look at him. For the days to follow, when we completed the filming, I did not talk to him at all.”
