According to the media, the incident reportedly occurred on March 12 in Shimga’s annual procession in the Konkan region.
The video shows that when the procession reached the mosque gate, some people from the mafia allegedly hit the mosque with the boot, smashing it.
The procession takes place every year during the Holly festival, and the participants carry a long creation of a tree, which they place on the steps of the mosque.
Some people this year allegedly tried to kill the mosque gate.
Confirming the incident, Ratnagiri Sp Dhananjay Kulkarni claimed no one tried to perform in the mosque.
Claiming that the police immediately intervened, he said: “In Rajapur’s incident, the creation of a tree used in the procession traditionally touches on various religious monuments.”
He said further: “The same thing was done in the mosque. So there was no mosque attack.
