New Delhi.
Bill Gates, the Co-Chair of the bill and the Melinda Gates Foundation, met with the Union of Agriculture Sharavra Singkh Chuan and discussed various issues, including agriculture and rural development.
“Bill Foundation is already working with the Government of India, in cooperation with the Ministry of Agriculture and the Village Development, and today we again discussed in which areas we could work.
Mr. Chuan Mr. Gates said that India focuses on the development of climate resistant and livelihood varieties to ensure future food security.
“The Gates Foundation works with ICAR, there is a more technical cooperation in this area,” the minister said.
The Indian Agricultural Research Council (ICAR) has developed more than 2,900 crops, of which 85% are climate resistant, and 179 are biophort.
Bill Gates noted that agricultural research in India is excellent, which can benefit the rest of the world.
The Minister said.
Mr. Chuan highly assessed the cooperation between the Gates Foundation with the Ministry of Development and Agriculture and said that “playing an important role in strengthening the model cluster federation.”
The meeting was also attended by Agricultural Secretary Devesh Singh, a rural development secretary Shyles Singh, from the ministries, Sta, as well as the Gates Foundation officials, Harry Meno and Alkash Afash.
