Chitra Subramaniam also told her book as she traveled with an official Indian delegation to Switzerland in 1990, and after meeting with Swiss officials, one member of the team took her to the side and told her as a “sixth account” that could not be blocked because he was associated with the name.

Subramaniam notes that she made 18 telephone calls to her Snowman sources in Switzerland and Sting in Sweden, seeking confirmation but painted empty, and both sources told her she needed a break.
The story broke out in two Swedish newspapers, and then in several Indian newspapers, and Subamaniah said she was asked several people how she missed the story, but followed the weapon when she did not receive it when she received an independent confirmation and was eventually justified.
