Eva Noblezada and Reeve Carney notably starred as on-stage lovers Orpheus and Eurydice in the hit Broadway musical Hadestown.
The co-stars recently performed a sold-out live concert event together in New York City.
But things took a surprising twist when Noblezada paused the show.

In a video posted by the venue, The Green Room 42, Noblezada stopped the concert to ask the crowd a question.
“Wait, actually. Is Marti here?” she asked, referring to Carney’s mum.
“Sorry, I actually left something I need for the show. Sorry, one second,” she apologised.

The star then stepped off the stage and headed into the audience with Carney following behind her.
The duo walked through the crowd to find his mum sitting at one of the tables.
“So, I just needed to get something really important from my future mother-in-law,” Noblezada explained, holding up her hand to reveal a ring sitting on that finger.

Noblezada and Carney sealed the engagement news with a kiss as the crowd erupted in cheers around them.
The couple first met in 2019 when they were cast in Hadestown on Broadway.
They reportedly started dating shortly after.

They recently reprised their roles in the West End production of Hadestown.
Noblezada and Carney celebrated their engagement with separate Instagram posts.
Carney shared a video that captured the exact moment he got down on one knee on the Blackfriars Bridge in London.

“She said YES!!!!!!!!” his caption began excitedly with lots of emojis.
“Eva, every day since meeting you has been the best day of my life ❤️🙏🏻❤️ I love you, I love you, I love you.
“So honoured, and excited, and over the MOON to be on this journey with you!!!”

The official Hadestown Instagram account celebrated the news with a heartwarming reference from the musical.
“Who are you?” “The man who’s gonna marry you,” they wrote, which are lyrics from the song Come Home with Me.
In her own post, Noblezada shared photos taken after their engagement.
“I am texting this caption as a friggin Fiancé!!!!! 😭😭😭,” she wrote.
“To my betrothed,@reevecarney you are perfect and this past weekend in London was perfect!!!!
“I am so thankful our family was there because of you!!”
