A concern for Vande Bharat’s operative speed was caused by several parliamentarians (MPs) when they questioned Vaishnava about the causes of the train speed exceeding its capabilities.
So far, the fastest train in India Vande Bharat Express has transformed railway trips to the country and created a precedent for the upcoming rail technology.
A semi-fast train, Vande Bharat is designed to run at a maximum speed of 160 kilometers per hour. Recently, however, there has been a concern that the train speed has decreased over time.
Now Ashvini Vaishna, the Minister of the Union of Railways, explained why the average train speed has fallen.
Problem
A concern for Vande Bharat’s operative speed was caused by several parliamentarians (MPs) when they questioned Vaishnava about the causes of the train speed exceeding its capabilities.
Further, the deputies sought updates about the government’s plans, terms and strategies to provide the train at the best speed.

Responding to these requests, Vaishnat explained that the train speed is determined not only by its movable stock, but also by the track infrastructure it works. He added that modernization and improvement of railway tracks across India is a constant process.
“In 2014, the speed potential of only about 31,000 km of the track was 110 km / h and above, which significantly improved up to 80,000 km now,” he said in his response.
