In a memorandum based on the arrest, the police claimed that the accused committed a cognitive crime and if not arrested, the complainant and her husband were likely to “threaten”.
Memo said, “Since the arrested accused is a very strong social and economic background, and holds an impressive position, he can threaten/affect the complainant if not arrested and more importantly that her husband Manab Deka, who is an elected representative, said,” said the Memo.
