Amaal Malik and Armaan Malik made waves in Bollywood cinema with their soulful voice and songs. A decade ago, fans were left in awe of the hot brother duo, but no one had thought that they would one day sever all ties with each other. Well, in a shocking turn of events, Amaal Malik, taking to his social media handle, announced cutting all ties with his family and talked about the rift between him and his brother, Armaan Malik.

Amaal Malik and Armaan Malik are children of Daboo Malik and Jyoti Malik. On March 20, 2025, Amaal took to his Instagram handle and posted a long note highlighting how, over the years, he has been made to feel less. Amaal revealed that he, along with his brother, Armaan, has changed the scene and being referred to as ‘XYZ’ nephew.
He bared his heart out on his emotional turmoil, as his peace has been taken away and he is financially not stable. Amaal further revealed that he has been clinically depressed. He wrote:
“Today I stand at a point where my peace has been taken away. I am emotionally and probably financially broken, but that is the least of my worries. What really matters is that I am clinically depressed due to these events. Yes, I can only blame myself, but my self-esteem has been lowered countless times by the actions of people close to me who have stolen pieces of my soul”

Further, in the picture note on social media, Amaal blamed their parents for the rift between him and his brother, Armaan. He stated that their actions have created a huge distance between the siblings. He penned:
“This journey has been amazing for both of us, but my parents’ actions have distanced us brothers from each other. All this has forced me to take steps for myself, as it has left a very deep scar in my heart.”
The singer added that he felt inadequate and resentful despite his achievements over the years. He has been made to feel less. Amaal added that he is cutting off contact with his family for his own good. He concluded his note by writing:
“Today, with a heavy heart, I announce that I am stepping away from these personal ties. From now on, my interactions with my family will be strictly professional. This isn’t a decision made in anger, but one born from the necessity to heal and reclaim my life. I refuse to let the past rob me of my future any longer. I am committed to rebuilding my life, piece by piece, with honesty and strength.”
It is worth mentioning that Amaal Malik’s brother, Armaan Malik married Aashna Shroff earlier in January 2025. This comes as a shock to the Malik family.
