On Thursday, 14 April on Ambedker Jayanti, scholar and writer Suraj Yengde highlighted how Dr. Bribedkar’s views were recognized in the United States.
He said that the US, which is struggling with problems related to color, gender, sexuality and zenophobia, can learn from Ambedkar and the overall universal politics of the Indian Constitution that binds and unite complex history.
Countless relations with us
Ambedkar’s US Connect began with his studies in Columbia on the recommendation of Maharaja Sayajiro Gakwad of Baroda, who along with other students, along with other students, sponsored their education.
Yengde said that Maharaja Gakwad was one of the few kings of his time, who had given priority to American education contrary to the British education system, and participated in many educational and cultural exchange and initiative.
Ambedkar, who is now a famous person in American colleges, insisted not only on establishing good relations with the US because it had technology, but also because it was financially strong, Yengde suggested.
Columbia University has recently launched ‘Ambedkar Pahal’ in its colleges.
Along with incorporating caste as a disadvantaged category in some American institutions, Yengde says that Ambedkar’s name is “with the highest honor”.
He said, “America can learn a lot from Ambedkar and Dalits. Ambedkar is a story that America likes to repeat – the story of making it … is not making himself anything from anywhere,” he said.
