Recently, a series of WhatsApp hacking by scammers who posed as friends and colleagues came to light on targeting the employees of Delhi University.
The victims received a message from a known contact, stating that they accidentally sent a code to their phone number which they needed immediately. Many people forwarded the code to the sender, after which their WhatsApp account was compromised. Once the scammers accessed these accounts, they targeted others in the contact list of the victims.
This is a common hacking technique in which fraudulent users take users cheated to share their verification code. Let’s break their process and, even more importantly you can do to stop it before logging in from your account.
