The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has issued a Class II recall for nearly 200,000 cans of Good & Gather Cut Green Beans, sold exclusively at Target, due to possible contamination with a foreign object.
The recall, which affects 8,242 cases (197,808 cans), was initiated by Del Monte Foods Inc. as a precautionary measure after identifying the potential risk. Foreign objects in canned goods can include plastic or metal, which may lead to dental injuries, choking hazards, or gastrointestinal issues.
The affected 14.5 oz (411g) cans have a “best if used by” date of October 28, 2026, and were distributed in 20 states, including California, Texas, New York, Illinois, and Florida.
A Class II recall means the product may cause temporary or medically reversible health consequences, though the likelihood of severe injury is low. Consumers who have purchased the recalled green beans should dispose of them immediately or return them to Target for a refund.
