Bruce Springsteen not only started a relationship with one his The E Street Band stars, but he went on to marry her.
Patti Scialfa grew up around the same area as Springsteen, but the pair first officially met in the early ’80s at a bar.
“It was the beginning of a beautiful friendship. We had a beer together, sat at a table, and talked,” Scialfa once said, via People.
“After that, I would go down every Sunday and sing, and sometimes he would be there. He knew I lived in New York and that I didn’t have a car, so he would offer to drop me off at my mum’s.”
Their friendship turned professional when Springsteen asked Scialfa in 1984 to join his band, The E Street Band, on tour.
She returned with the band in 1988.
