Mathew Knowles isn’t staying silent after Kanye West took things way too far, targeting Beyoncé and Jay-Z’s children in his latest string of online rants.
In an interview with TMZ, Mathew addressed the artist formerly named Kanye West’s controversial behavior, especially his offensive posts about the Carters’ 7-year-old twins, Rumi and Sir, where he used a derogatory term. The longtime music executive, who managed Beyoncé for years, made it clear he’s seen a lot in the industry—but this crossed a line.
“People pay a price for being stupid, especially in the music industry,” Mathew said, cutting straight to the point.
While many have speculated that Ye’s recent actions stem from untreated mental health struggles, Mathew acknowledged the concern and added, “I’m hopeful Kanye gets the type of help he needs, in terms of mental health.”
Beyoncé’s mother, Tina Knowles, also seemingly responded this week in a more cryptic fashion. She posted a video with the message, “No weapon formed against me or my family shall prosper,” signaling that the Knowles family is standing strong despite the attacks.
Kanye’s online tirades have become increasingly unhinged, with offensive statements directed not just at celebrities, but also including disturbing comments praising Nazis and Adolf Hitler. He’s also continued to go after his ex-wife Kim Kardashian and family, accusing them of being sex traffickers.
