Ayesha Howard has officially filed for sole custody of her daughter with Anthony Edwards after he stated he does not want contact with the child.
The latest development in their ongoing paternity drama comes after Howard, 37, filed court documents on March 11th, requesting sole legal and physical custody of their child, born in 2024. Howard emphasized her role as a “fit and loving mother” in the filing.
Previously, Howard named Edwards, 23, in a September lawsuit, claiming he fathered her unborn baby. Edwards later requested a DNA test to confirm his paternity, which was conducted in December 2024 and confirmed he is the biological father. Howard now seeks to amend the birth certificate to reflect his name as the father.
In addition to custody, Howard requested Edwards cover her pregnancy and child-related expenses, including child support for their daughter’s upbringing and education. She also sought reimbursement for her attorney’s fees. Edwards filed a response on the same day, acknowledging he is the biological father but did not address Howard’s financial demands. He noted that no formal child support arrangement is currently in place.
Edwards previously stated in court documents, “I am not seeking child custody or visitation of Aubri. Therefore, the only issues to be resolved are financial in nature.”
