Hina Khan has proven to be a warrior ever since her diagnosis with cancer. After being diagnosed with stage 3 breast cancer in June 2024, the actress has been quite candid about her battle with the deadly disease, together with her chemo experiences, surgeries, and hair loss that came with it. For the first time since revealing her breast cancer diagnosis in June 2024, Hina courageously stepped onto the red carpet without a wig—proudly flaunting her real hair, however little it may be.

Hina Khan recently appeared at the OTTplay Awards 2025, looking stunning in a black-and-golden short dress paired with stockings and boots. But it wasn’t just her outfit that caught everyone’s attention, it was her hair — for the first time since her cancer diagnosis, Hina made a bold public appearance in her real hair, rather than relying on wigs. And oh boy, did she deliver! The actress looked fresh as a flower and radiated genuine happiness at being able to flaunt her real hair. Hina smiled as she addressed the paparazzi, playfully asking:
“Abhi tak itne hi baal aaye hain. Acchi lag rahi hoon na main?”
The crowd erupted in cheers, assuring her she looked radiant. In another emotional moment at the event, actress, Aditi Rao Hydari was seen pulling Hina in a tight embrace. Hina, overwhelmed by the love, kissed Aditi’s hands and thanked her.
Hina Khan receives praise for her bold role in Griha Laxmi
The OTTplay Awards 2025, held in Mumbai on March 22, turned out to be extra special for Hina. She bagged the Promising Actor (Female) award for her stellar performance in Griha Laxmi on EPIC ON. Receiving the award, she was greeted with hugs from hosts Kubra Sait and Aparshakti Khurana, who lauded her for inspiring millions through her journey. After receiving the award, Hina described how she found similarities between the show’s character, ‘Laxmi’ and herself. She said:
“I’ve been hitting the gym throughout my chemotherapy, so I can handle this. Thank you, thank you, everybody, thank you HT, thank you OTTPlay Awards… See, I feel a woman goes through changes in every segment of her life and that’s how Laxmi’s journey has been in Griha Laxmi…she has been so, so brave and taken some really brave decisions and somehow made me brave too. This was the last project I shot before my diagnosis, so it will always be special. And this is the first one for Griha Laxmi.”
But it was her simple request before leaving the stage that left many teary-eyed. Just before walking off stage, Hina made a tiny request to the audience, urging them to pray for her. Hina said:
“Ek choti si request hai please, for all of you please, ten seconds and just say a little prayer for me please”.
Well, it can be asserted that Hina Khan’s brave public appearance without a wig is not just a fashion statement, but a message of acceptance, strength, and hope. Praying for her complete recovery!
