“There was no gate on the house, and people were pulling their boats up to the dock. My mom is out by the pool, muthaf**ker pull a boat up on the dock, walk up the dock,” he explained.
The “Country Grammar” star admitted that he never anticipated his meteoric rise to fame, leading him to believe the property would be his forever home.
“We moved. We got gates and s**t after that. That was like in ’01, ’02? Some shit like that. And people were just, yeah, man, they were coming by. But I thought I was going to be there forever,” he added.
Eventually, he only used the property for its in-home studio before deciding to sell it. At the time, Nelly’s “MTV Cribs” episode was a fan favorite, showcasing the four-bedroom, five-bath lakefront mansion complete with arcade games, a luxurious fish aquarium, a jacuzzi, and other lavish amenities.
