Aamir Khan’s obsession with pillows is known to all. The actor has often been seen carrying a pillow whenever he travels to catch a flight. He has often been pictured holding the pillow, posing in front of the media. His fans keep wondering about his habit with the same, and now Aamir’s ex-wife, Kiran Rao, has addressed the reason. She revealed the reason behind Aamir’s airport look while holding a pillow.

Aamir Khan’s former wife, Kiran Rao, opened up about his obsession with the takiya. During an interview with ANI, Kiran started off by saying that she and Aamir have been divorced for a while, and his look is entirely his own. But that takiya has been a constant. He goes on to every flight with that pillow and leaves with that pillow. He likes to sleep. Kiran shared:
“Akshay has that track pants with one arm up and down. I guess it’s an eccentricity that some people have. I feel like also in someway it distinguishes one from the next. It’s almost like I am happy that Aamir does. He’s comletely happy to be himself and people’s opinion doesn’t bother him and that actually helped me me lot. When you are a person from a very middle class family suddenly going to occassions where you are not equipped to deal with a lot of things.”
Kiran also added that it would be stressful if your partner expected you to look a certain way, and Aamir has never been like that. She also shared that Reena was entirely her own person, and he was very happy for her to be in her own skin, which she felt has been one of the greatest things about Aamir.

If you look at Aamir Khan’s airport pictures, you will know he loves pillows. He does not forget to carry his sleep accessory even when he is boarding a flight. Kareena, his Laal Singh Chaddha co-star had once even put a picture from the flight where he was seen in deep slumber. The snap showcased Aamir hiding his face behind a pillow as Kareena posed with him. Kareena had captioned the snap as, “My fav co-star has to be @_aamirkhan’s… pillow!” He commented by saying:
“Aye! Pillow pe mat jaana! Pillow pe mat jaana!!! #Repost @kareenakapoorkhan My fav co-star has to be @_aamirkhan’s… pillow!”
When Kiran Rao revealed she had made a mindful decision to separate from Aamir Khan
Kiran, earlier in an interview with Filmfare, revealed her separation from Aamir. The duo began dating when Kiran was an assistant director on Lagaan sets, a classic cult sports period drama movie. It was in 2005 that Aamir and Kiran got married, and they were blessed with Azaad in 2011 via surrogacy. It was in 2021 that the couple separated after 16 years of marriage. Kiran had told the publication:
“It (the separation) happened smoothly because it took us time to reach a place where we were ready to be divorced. We worked on our marriage really well for a long time. Even when we decided to get divorced, it was done very mindfully. We never fought. We would have arguments from time to time, but nothing that wouldn’t be resolved within 12 hours.”
