The White Lotus star Aimee Lou Wood has voiced her surprise at the fan reaction to a feature she was once “bullied” over.
“I can’t believe the impact my teeth are having,” the astonished 31-year-old said during an appearance on The Jonathan Ross Show recently.
Wood is currently starring on season three of The White Lotus, which has prompted fans to point out her natural teeth that feature several gaps – very different to the perfect veneer smile that has become popular in Hollywood.

While on the talk show, Wood said the reaction from Americans online had been “lovely”.
The star explained she had come across videos of orthodontists analysing her teeth but ultimately concluding they “don’t think she should change a thing”.
“It feels so lovely. A real full-circle moment after being bullied for my teeth forever. Now people are clapping in an audience ’cause I’ve got these gnashers,” she said.
The one thing she hopes fans don’t do to replicate her smile is file their teeth.
Wood stars as Chelsea on The White Lotus alongside stars like Walton Goggins, Leslie Bibb, Patrick Schwarzenegger and Carrie Coon.
But her breakout role was arguably in the British teen drama series, Sex Education.
Wood was on the Netflix show for its entire four-season run from 2019 to 2023.

In an interview with Stylist opened up about thinking her teeth would impact her chances of being cast in the show.
“I was like, ‘Well, what have I seen on Netflix? Everyone has perfect Hollywood teeth’,” she recalled thinking at the time.
“And now, of course, I’m getting hundreds of messages from people going, ‘Oh my god, you’ve got teeth like mine. Now I go to school and people think I’m cool because I look like Aimee.’

“Instead of it being ‘Bugs Bunny’ or whatever. Because that’s what happened to me.”
The English actress has also starred in the series Daddy Issues, Toxic Town and Living.
Wood spoke to 9Honey Celebrity in 2021 when she was still starring on Sex Education about becoming recognised from the show about moving away from people pleasing.
“Staying really present, thanking people, and not letting anything get too stressful, and not trying to please absolutely everyone,” she shared.
“That’s what I think you have to do with this, because otherwise, you just end up… everyone [I] talk to, I walk off thinking, ‘I hope they’re madly in love with me. I hope they think I’m the best person they’ve ever met,’ and I start feeling drained.”
