Gurmeet Choudhary and Debina Bonnerjee are popularly known as the OG ‘Ram-Sita’ couple of Hindi television. Aside from being a fan-favourite on-screen jodi, they are a much-adored couple in the industry who began their journey with a negligible bank balance, a single suitcase and a whole lot of love, respect and support for each other. Cut to the present: the TV heartthrob, Gurmeet, has made a jaw-dropping real estate move by purchasing a lavish home in Mumbai’s Andheri West region that comes with a whopping price tag!
Gurmeet Choudhary invests in posh real-estate
Gurmeet and Debina are on their way to having their dream house, all ready to move in. The actors recently acquired a plush property in Windsor Grander, Andheri West, that reportedly cost Rs. 16 crore. Based in Mumbai’s prime residential area, the property boasts modern amenities, expansive interiors, and breathtaking balcony views. While the house already exudes luxury, interior work is still in progress, ensuring that every detail reflects Gurmeet and his wife, Debina Bonnerjee’s refined taste.
Taking to his Instagram, Gurmeet recently shared a sneak peek inside their dream house, with his wife, Debina, in the frame. He penned an emotional note along with the short clip, reminiscing his struggles and rise to success in the city of dreams. Gurmeet recalled how he arrived in Mumbai with nothing but a suitcase, dreams, and the unwavering support of his Grihalakshmi, Debina. His caption read:
“Ek waqt tha jab humare paas sirf ek suitcase tha — usme hum dono ke kapde the, sapne the, aur ek dusre ka sahaara. Aaj jab peeche mudke dekhta hoon, toh dil bhar aata hai… us ek suitcase se lekar yahan tak ka safar sirf ek wajah se mumkin hua — meri Grihalakshmi.”
Gurmeet further expressed his belief that with the right partner, anything is possible. He dedicated this new milestone to love, hard work, and the blessings of well-wishers, calling it the most beautiful gift of their journey together. He wrote:
“Sach kehte hain, agar aapke saath ek sahi saathi ho, toh zindagi kitni bhi mushkil ho, aap aasman tak pahunch sakte ho. Yeh naya ghar sirf ek makan nahi, humare pyaar, mehnat aur aap sabki duaon ka sabse khoobsurat tohfa hai. Dil se shukriya har uss insaan ka jo is safar ka hissa raha. #Grihalakshmi #FromOneSuitcaseToHere #NewBeginnings #BlessedAndGrateful”

Gurmeet and Debina’s journey, from financial setbacks to stardom
Gurmeet’s life in Mumbai was far from easy. In his initial days, he skipped meals and shared a cramped space with 10-12 people. At times, he couldn’t even afford petrol for his bike. Earlier, Gurmeet revealed to Humans of Bombay how he only had Rs. 500 in his bank account when he first moved to Mumbai to pursue his dreams. Through every challenge, Debina stood by Gurmeet, proving to be his biggest rock. He recalled:
“I remember only having a bike, and I didn’t even have money to buy petrol. Surviving in Mumbai was difficult in those days and in a moment like that, when a girl comes into your life who shows that belief in you…that’s very important.”
