Talking about Riyan Parag’s background, he was born on November 10, 2001, in Assam’s Guwahati. Not everyone knows that Parag’s father, Parag Das, is a former cricketer who played first-class cricket and represented Assam, Railways, and East Zone cricket teams. Another interesting anecdote about Parag Das is that he had played opposite Mahendra Singh Dhoni in the 1999-2000 season of Ranji Trophy. While MS Dhoni was playing for Bihar, Parag Das was representing Assam. During the match, MS Dhoni stumped Parag Das, and Bihar went on to win.
Right from an early age, Riyan Parag started playing cricket, and he made his first-class debut for Assam during the 2017-18 Ranji Trophy back on November 17, 2017. In the following year, Parag was the leading run-scorer in the 2018-19 Vijay Hazare Trophy with 248 runs. Riyan Parag rose to fame after winning the ICC Under-19 Cricket World Cup. The cricketer made his T20I debut on July 6, 2024, against Zimbabwe. The youngster made his debut in IPL in 2019 when Rajasthan Royals purchased him for a price of just Rs. 20 lakhs.

In his debut IPL season, Riyan Parag scored a vital half-century (50) against Delhi Capitals and became the youngest cricketer in the competition’s history to achieve this feat. Parag was just 17 years and 175 days old when he unlocked this achievement by surpassing Prithvi Shaw and Sanju Samson. During the IPL 2024, Riyan Parag finished the season as Rajasthan Royals’ highest run scorer. It will be interesting to see whether he will replicate the IPL 2024’s performance in IPL 2025.

Several netizens who were connected to Riyan Parag’s livestream shared the young cricketer’s search history on social media. The trollers were quick to criticise the cricketer for his actions, and in no time, Riyan Parag was getting humiliated by almost everyone on social media. However, after some time, Parag came forward and shared his story. The young cricketer clearly stated that he had no idea how those results popped in his search results. Whether the search results shown in his YouTube history belong to him or it was a technical glitch or something else, it’s still a mystery. Soon, the controversy was forgotten, and Riyan Parag continues to lead headlines for his cricketing abilities.
