Pop star Katy Perry is heading to space in just a matter of weeks.
The singer is currently busy rehearsing for her Lifetimes tour, which kicks off April 23.
In February, it was announced Perry would be part of Jeff Bezos’ rocket company Blue Origin’s all-female flight crew, which would launch to space in the US spring.
The six member crew includes Bezos’ fiancée Lauren Sánchez and journalist Gayle King.

Now we have an official launch date for the 10-minute flight.
It has been confirmed that just days before Perry goes on the road, the star will blast off to space on Blue Origin’s New Shepard rocket on April 14.

“Just over two weeks until the NS-31 crew embarks on the journey of a lifetime and experiences the Overview Effect firsthand,” Blue Origin announced the departure date on their official Instagram account.
“New Shepard’s crewed NS-31 mission is targeting liftoff from Launch Site One in the West Texas high desert on April 14 at 8:30 a.m. Central (13:30 UTC).”

The other three female crew members are rocket scientist Aisha Bowe, Nobel Peace Prize nominee Amanda Nguyen and film producer Kerianne Flynn.
Oprah Winfrey, who is longtime friends with King, also shared the official date announcement in a post to her Instagram grid.
Sánchez, who is a licensed helicopter pilot and is leading the team, shared the photo of their mission patch to Instagram.
She revealed each of the crew members “has a symbol tucked into the stars” on the patch, hinting hers “has wings and loves to explore”.

“The countdown is on. We’re ready to fly.”
Perry previously revealed on a group call with the other flight members she is “nervous”.
“Is anyone else nervous, or am I the only Nellie Nervosa?” King asked on the video call, shared by Sánchezto Instagram.
“I’ll be a little nervous, but I’ll be looking at you guys,” Perry responded.
