The Union Government has announced the launch of a new taxi service on a cooperative called “Sahkar Taxi”, which will provide bicycles, cabin and automobiles to compete with popular platforms for trips such as OLA, Uber and Rapido. The move is aimed at providing an alternative transport service where drivers can earn directly without sharing profits in large corporations.
Taxi Sahkar to run with two and four wheels
“Taxi Sahkar register taxi with two wheels, auto-drivers and four-wheeled taxis across the country,” said Interior Minister and Cooperation Minister Amit Shah, announcing the initiative in parliament.
Shah said Sahar Samriddhi Prime Minister Narendra Modi is not just a slogan, the Ministry of Cooperation has worked day and night over the last three and a half years to realize it.
Shah said the Sahkar taxi service would be deployed “in the coming months”.
Unlike private companies, this service supported by the government ensures that all profits will remain with the driver, giving them a great financial benefit. ”
In addition, a cooperative insurance company will also be created to make insurance in the country’s cooperative system, Shah said. “It will soon become the largest insurance company in the private sector,” he said.
The new initiative is aimed at expanding the capabilities of drivers, providing passengers with a reliable and cost effective transport option.

A similar model already works in Western Bengal under the “Yatri Sathi” service, which was originally only available in Calcutta. He has now expanded in cities such as Siliguri, Asana and Durgapur. Yatri Sathi offers quick orders, support for local language, available tariffs and round -the -clock customers, making it a popular option among passengers.
In 2022, Kerala became the first to launch the Kerala Savaari’s government internet service. Although it was closed with low use, the state government plans to restore it with revised tariffs and advanced software.
