The award show saw the presence of several A-listers from the industry, from Akshay Kumar and Sushmita Sen to Shahid Kapoor and Ananya Panday. Govinda’s wife, Sunita Ahuja, also graced the event, and her son, Yashvardhan Ahuja, accompanied her. But what grabbed our attention was Sunita’s unexpected reaction when questioned about Govinda’s absence.

On March 27, 2025, Sunita Ahuja graced the Pinkvilla Screen & Style Icons Awards 2025. Rather than arriving with Govinda, the diva arrived at the event with their son, Yashvardhan Ahuja. Sunita made a dazzling entry on the red carpet, dressed in a peach-toned sequinned co-ord set with pink floral detailing on the top. She paired her look with glam makeup, loose hair and sleek dangling earrings. On the other hand, Yashvardhan looked dapper in a black shirt, brown shades, a cream-hued blazer and matching pants.
As the paparazzi eagerly captured the mother-son duo, one curious voice from the crowd couldn’t help but ask, “Govinda sir kahan hai?”. However, Sunita’s response was rather unexpected, to say the least. In her signature wit, Sunita responded with a dramatic and seemingly annoyed “What?!” followed by her infectious laughter, which instantly lit up the atmosphere.
If that wasn’t enough, when someone speculated that Govinda might make a grand late entry, Sunita quipped, “Last but not the least,” leaving everyone chuckling at her playful remark. But it was her final words that truly melted hearts. As she prepared to move on, a photographer mentioned that the paparazzi missed the Jodi No. 1 actor. Sunita, without missing a beat, said with a smile:

For months, Bollywood was abuzz with speculation that Govinda and Sunita Ahuja were heading for a divorce, as they were reportedly living separately. However, Sunita recently dismissed these rumours, clarifying that their decision had nothing to do with marital issues. She explained that when Govinda joined politics and their daughter, Tina, was growing up, frequent visits from party members made privacy difficult. Now that Tina is older, they feel more at ease at home and have set up a separate office nearby. Firmly shutting down the gossip, Sunita declared that no one could come between her and Govinda. She was heard saying:
“Alag-alag rehne ka matlab yeh hai ki jab unhone politics join ki thi, tab hamari beti badi ho rahi thi, aur uss samay kai karyakarta ghar par aate the. Ab jab beti jawan ho gayi hai, hum ghar mein aaram se shorts pehen kar ghoomte hain, isliye humne samne hi ek office le liya tha. Agar iss duniya mein koi mai ka laal mujhe aur Govinda ko alag kar sakta hai, toh samne aakar dikhaye.”
