Tamil actress Shruthi Narayanan has addressed the recent controversy surrounding a leaked video allegedly linked to a casting couch incident. Expressing distress over the situation, she urged the public to refrain from sharing the content, emphasizing the emotional toll it has taken on her and her family.
In an Instagram story, Shruthi stated, “For many, sharing such content might seem like a joke or entertainment. But for me and my loved ones, this is an extremely painful situation. It is a challenging time, and handling it has not been easy. I am also a human being with emotions, and this has deeply affected those close to me.”
She further appealed to people’s empathy, urging them to consider the impact before spreading such content. “I request everyone to stop spreading this like wildfire. If watching such videos is acceptable, then imagine how it would feel if it involved someone from your own family. Please be considerate,” she wrote.
The video, reportedly from a private audition, has been widely circulated online, igniting discussions about exploitation in the entertainment industry.
Shruthi Narayanan, who started her career in Tamil television, gained popularity through the show Siragadikka Aasai, which airs on Star Vijay and is available for streaming on JioHotstar. The series, which debuted in January 2023, features Vetri Vasanth and Gomathi Priya in lead roles.
