Responding to the opposition attack on the BJP ruling over the alleged reduction of freedom of expression, trade union minister Ashvini Vaishna said on Saturday that in accordance with the Indian Constitution, the fundamental law is not absolute but has reasonable restrictions.
The minister’s reactions arise when the opposition twice increases criticism against the BJP ruling after the actions of the Maharashtri government against the stand-up comedian Kunn Camra for his alleged controversial statements about Deputy Chief Minister Maharashtri Shinda.
“Those who show a copy of the Constitution must open it and read it. It clearly reads that it is necessary to take advantage of the rights of freedom of expression and freedom of expression,” Vaishnava said, speaking at TV9 Bharatvarsh Global Summit.
The minister said that reasonable restrictions on freedom of expression were included in the Constitution through the first amendment when the Prime Minister was Jawharlal Nera.
“They need to know reasonable restrictions on these rights in our Constitution. These reasonable restrictions were included in the Constitution during Nera through the first amendment,” he said. The Minister stated that there are different feelings in India and Western countries when it comes to the sphere of freedom of expression and opinions.
“In the West, the burning of the flag is considered to be freedom of expression. In our country we accept the burning of the flag. No one will approve it. In Western nakedness is the norm. No one considers it bad. In our society we approve these things? We will not accept it,” he said.
The Minister called India as a generic country and stated that the cultural basis unites the residents of different parts of India for thousands of years.
The minister said India testifies to the “policy of implementation” according to the rules of the Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
“This nation has seen the Congress rule for 60 years. For 60 years, there have been four decades, when there has been no economic growth, no possibilities for the youth. Now the nation has seen a new era of Prime Minister Modi.
“There are many opportunities for the youth in politics, and people reward this implementation policy. In every corner of India, people recognize the work of Prime Minister Modi. They recognize positive changes in their lives. And this transforms as their blessing (for the BDP) during the elections,” he added.
