NIDHI TEWARI, IFS officer 2014, has been working at the Prime Minister (PMO) office for more than three years.
The Nidhi Temar Foreign Service Officer was appointed private secretary of the Prime Minister Narendra Modi. On March 29, the government issued an official order, confirming its appointment with immediate effect. The Cabinet of Ministers’ Directions Committee approved its new role, as shown in the memorandum issued by the staff and training department (DOPT).
NIDHI TEWARI, IFS officer 2014, has been working at the Prime Minister (PMO) office for more than three years. Prior to this appointment, she worked as a deputy secretary in PMO. Earlier, she joined PMO as a secretary in November 2022 and in January 2023 received the post of deputy secretary.
Before Tewari, the Modi Prime Minister had two private secretaries – Hardyk Satischendra Shah and Vivek Kumar.
Who is the NIDH TESSIF?
Nidhi Tewari is originally from Mahmoran in Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh. She secured the 96th rank at the UPSC civil service exam and initially worked as an assistant commissioner (commercial tax) in Varanas during the preparation.
She also served in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MEA), in particular, in the disarmament and international security department, which reports the National Security Advisor Ajit Doval.
As a private secretary of the Prime Minister Modi, Tewari will perform important official responsibilities and will help in managing the Prime Minister and key communications schedule.
Its purpose notes another milestone in her excellent career in the field of public service. With her experience of diplomacy and administration, she is expected to play a decisive role in supporting the Prime Minister’s office.
