BJP Mla Tarwinder Singh Marva wrote to Chief Minister Delhi Echu Gupto, urging shopkeepers to ask for his names before his institutions during the current festivities of Naurus and ID.
The proposal is aimed at promoting transparency and providing a sense of identification and accountability in the busy markets during these significant religious celebrations.
In his letter on Sunday, Marva emphasized the importance of accurate identification in public safety and stimulating a more organized trading situation.
“As we approach Naetra and ID, it is important to make sure that the celebrations are held with mutual respect and harmony. I ask your esteemed position to give recommendations for shopkeepers all over Delhi to show signboards on their institutions.
“This step will contribute to transparency and municipal harmony. Your intervention will help to provide smooth celebrations and prevent misunderstandings,” read it further.
As these festivals see customer influx, MLA suggests that the names will also help improve customer communication and service.
The proposal came at a time when Delhi witnessed vivid festivities for both the nurreth and the id, which reflects the rich cultural and religious diversity of the city.
