Chiley President Gabriel Borich asks Prime Minister Modi about Ashoka Chakra’s importance during his state visit to India.
During his state visit to India on April 1, 2025, Chilean President Gabriel Boryk was engaged in an interesting exchange with the Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi regarding the significance of ASHOKA on the Indian flag. The conversation took place at the Hyderabad House in Delhi, where two leaders met for negotiations.
On a video about the exchange, which quickly became viral in social media, shows that Bory stopped at the Indian flag when it goes out of the door. Pointing to Ashoka Chakra in the center of the flag, Boryk asked Modi about his meaning. Modi replied, explaining the significance of the symbol, which is a dark -synchy wheel with 24 spokes. Earlier on this day, President Boryk visited Rajgat, Mahatma Gandhi Memorial, where he offered the Flower Independence to India’s Independence. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs shared this moment in the social media, emphasizing Barik’s honoring Gandhi’s message about peace and non -violence. The gesture was a reminder of the unchanging heritage of Gandhi’s ideals that continue to inspire nation worldwide.
During his visit, Boryk emphasized the importance of strengthening and diversifying relations between India and Chile. He called the visit as a “significant occasion”, emphasizing the common growth opportunities, especially in sectors such as agribusiness, innovation and creative industries. Boric also needed more multilateral cooperation in the current world context.
The visit, which will work until April 5, 2025, is aimed at deepening economic, political and cultural ties between the two countries. President Borik’s meeting with Indian Foreign Minister S. Yashankar was previously celebrated on the beginning of the talks, and both sides were optimistic about strengthening their years of cooperation.
