Mark Ronson has ended up in the hospital after an on-stage accident.
The Uptown Funk producer took to Instagram to share a snap of him giving a thumbs up from a hospital bed.
In the caption, the DJ – who is married to Meryl Streep’s daughter Grace Gumner – explained exactly how he managed to pop two biceps tendons while in the middle of a set.

“That time the house PA was so bad that I tried to one-hand turn the stage monitor towards the crowd mid-mix to give them some extra juice,” Ronson began.
The house PA is the speaker system provided by a venue, and the stage monitor a large speaker that generally faces the musician so they can hear themselves over the sound of the crowd.
“Turns out they weigh more than I thought,” Ronson added.
“Two popped bicep tendons and one finished gig later, here we are, baby! #tornthisway”
Plenty of famous names were spotted in the comments section sharing their condolences, including Aussie DJ Dom Dolla.
“Oooof 🙁 get well soon man ♥️,” the Saving Up musician wrote.
Ronson is one of the industry’s biggest pop producers working with names such as Amy Winehouse, Lily Allen, Paul McCartney and Adele, even scoring himself an Oscar in 2018 for his work on Shallow for the film A Star is Born.
But prior to breaking into the mainstream as a producer, Ronson began his musical career as a DJ, with a new book chronicling his journey set for release in September 2025.
In a post made on Instagram Ronson shared that Night People: How to Be a DJ in ’90s New York City is a “love letter to a vanished era that shaped not just my career but my identity”.

As part of the promotion ahead of the books release, Ronson has been playing DJ sets around New York City.
“Pulled my camo record bags out of storage and filled them with 300 dusty ass records to play my first vinyl sets in 19 (?) years,” he wrote on Instagram.
“I woke up today with my hands shredded, my ears shot, my lower back stiff as concrete, and FULLY BACK IN LOVE WITH DJING AGAIN. I f—ing love you New York.”
