Rhea Chakraborty’s friend shares how she didn’t get time to grieve over Sushant Singh Rajput’s demise
Rhea Chakraborty’s friend, Nidhi Hiranandani, sat down for a conversation with SCREEN, and she recalled the difficult time that the actress and her family had dealt with over the past five years. She revealed that Sushant and Rhea used to be a beautiful couple who were always there for one another. But his demise changed everyone’s lives forever. Sharing how Rhea didn’t get a chance to process the loss of Sushant, Nidhi said:
“I was constantly in touch with Rhea when all this was happening. I don’t think she or her family got even a minute to digest the loss of a loved one. They were shocked and grieving, and they were just thrown into this survival mode. They couldn’t even sit and mourn properly.”
Nidhi also shed light on the media trail faced by Rhea and mentioned that when she came out, media personnel shoved mics near her mouth. She watched it on TV with Rhea’s mother, and when the Jalebi actress reached home, she had bruises all over her arms and face. It deeply affected her mother, and she fell on the floor in shock. However, it was just the beginning. Gradually, Rhea lost her 20s, which were significant years of her life, and so did her brother, Showik, who was 23 years old at that time. Revealing the impact of Sushant’s death case on Rhea and her family’s life, her friend said:
“Showik was just 23, and he was taking his CAT exams. He got admission to the most prestigious colleges, but he couldn’t go. Rhea lost her career, she couldn’t do any film. So much was taken from them. Showik was denied admission to most of the colleges because the case was going on. From a boy, he became a man who now wants to build his life and bring stability to the family. He lost his youth, his carefree days.”
Nidhi Hiranandani shares Rhea Chakraborty became a scapegoat
Nidhi Hiranandani added that they couldn’t understand how things took a different turn, which left Rhea, Showik and their parents shattered, who treated Sushant like their family member. Everyone’s mental health was affected, and it made her feel helpless as Rhea’s life was harmed, and no one talked in her support despite requests. The actress was shattered, and that can’t be undone. Rather, the people who supported her were called the pro-Rhea and anti-Sushant clan on TV debates. In her words:
“There was a wave of hatred, and everybody was riding on it. Nobody wanted to focus on the truth, but they wanted this person to hate. Rhea became the scapegoat.”
