Flight Lieutenant, Siddharth Yadav showcased his bravery and sacrifice by saving several lives with his split-second decision before the Jaguar fighter jet crash happened on April 2, 2025. For the unversed, Siddharth was out for a night training mission in Jamnagar, Gujarat. A while later, the Jaguar aircraft lost control. Siddharth quickly decided to steer the jet to an open field, or else it would have turned into a catastrophic crash.

Siddharth Yadav’s demise has surely penetrated everyone, including his family members. Mostly, his fiance, Sonia, to whom he got engaged only 10 days before his demise. In a video that made rounds from Siddharth Yadav’s funeral, his fiance was seen breaking down in tears and addressing him adorably by asking why he didn’t come to take her. Such a video has left everyone hurt. Well, Sonia fought back her tears as she talked about her late fiance with pride.

As per a report by Republic World, Sonia said that she and Siddharth shared a great bond which is even beyond words. Sonia also mentioned that her fiance, i.e. the Flight Lieutenant, Siddharth Yadav was so committed to the nation that even on the day of their engagement, he had resumed work. She added that she would always carry Siddharth in her heart and will always be proud of him. In Sonia’s words:
“We shared a bond that words cannot capture. He had resumed duty the very day we got engaged — that’s the kind of commitment he had to the nation. I will always carry him in my heart, and I will always be proud of him.”

Reportedly, Siddharth and Sonia were about to get married in November 2025. The couple exchanged rings on March 31, 2025, which was 10 days before the tragic incident that happened with Siddharth. Siddharth’s funeral took place on April 4, 2025. His friends, colleagues, and family members were seen breaking down in tears as he was laid to rest with military honours in his village in Majra Bhalkhi.

Siddharth Yadav hailed from Haryana’s Rewari district, and he was the fourth generation military serviceman in his family. His father, Sushil Kumar Yadav, who had also been an Indian Air Force Officer, talked about his loss. He recalled getting a call from the commanding officer at 11 pm on April 2, 2025, who broke the news of Siddharth’s demise to them. Before the aircraft crashed, not just did Siddharth save several lives, which could have happened if the jet had crashed near the locality, but he also made sure that the co-pilot survived by ejecting him from the jet before it crashed and caught fire, thereby commanding his life. Recalling his son, Siddharth’s father said:
“The commanding officer called us around 11 pm and broke the news… that one pilot was rescued and another, our son, had died. He had joined NDA’s 135th course in January 2016. He was always brilliant — we’ve been proud of him since his school days.”
