In a heartbreaking glimpse from Manoj Kumar’s funeral, his wife, Shashi Goswami could be seen breaking down in tears. She was dressed in white clothes and was seen paying the last respects to her husband before the funeral took place. In the glimpses, the actor’s son, Kunal Goswami could also be seen presented. For the unversed, it was in the early hours of April 4, 2025, when Manoj Kumar breathed his last at Kokilaben Hospital. Reportedly, actor-filmmaker Bharat Kumar, who had been loved for his iconic patriotic films, was suffering from heart-related issues and liver cirrhosis, which commanded his life. Talking about his father’s demise, his son, Kunal told the media that the legendary actor-filmmaker was unwell for some time, but he fought with resilience and grace.

Shashi Goswami has been Manoj Kumar’s first love and his wife. Talking to Dainik Jagran back in 2013, the actor talked in detail about his love story with his wife, Shashi. He shared that he first met Shashi during his graduation days when he used to go to his friend’s house for studying. He stated that for one and a half years, they only exchanged glances as none of them had the courage to initiate the first interaction. Well, later than that, the couple went to a movie with their friends. Following this, they would meet frequently. Manoj revealed that while his family has no issues with his relationship with Shashi, her mom and brother had some. The couple stood strong against all the odds and got married.
In the same interview, Manoj Kumar shared that one of the most important things in a marriage is to not just stick up for the partner in their goods, but also support them in their weak zones. On the other hand, Shashi stated that she would often doubt her husband, given his actor aura. Manoj, on the other hand, always followed a routine of working from 10 am to 6 pm and then spending the rest of the time with his family, which he tagged as one of the reasons that he had a happy marriage.
