It was allegedly on February 24, 2025, when a manager from TCS named Manav Sharma, a techie professional, died by suicide. Before taking his life, Manav made a seven-minute-long clip which was emotional. He blamed his wife, Nikita Sharma, for the harsh step he took and apologised to his parents for taking the path he selected. He ended his life at Agra’s Defence Colony and now after almost a month, the Agra police arrested Manav’s wife, Nikita and Manav’s father-in-law, Nripendra Sharma from Ahmedabad.
UP Police had announced a prize of Rs. 10,000 for Nikita Sharma and Nripendra Sharma’s capture
The arrest of Nikita and Nripendra came after a non-bailable warrant was filed against the two with a cash prize of Rs. 10,000 for giving information to the cops related to their capture. The cops had also conducted varied raids across different cities in search of the alleged accused, who have been among the five people who have been named in the abetment to suicide case which was filed by Manav’s dad, Narendra Kumar Sharma.
Nikita Sharma was arrested after she failed to report to the police
There were multiple summons that were carried, and Manav’s wife, Nikita, did not appear in front of the cops. Her mom and sister then got arrested on March 13, 2025, and post-Manav’s demise, Nikita, in a clip, claimed that her late husband used to doubt her of having an affair outside of marriage. She also claimed that Manav used to hit her. Manav had wrapped a piece of clothing around his neck while the other part was tied to the ceiling fan. He made a video of the final moments on the camera and in a clip which was addressed to the cops. He said:
“This is for the authorities—police and law enforcement. The law needs to protect men, or else a time will come when there will be no men left. No man to take the blame anymore. Let me share my situation. It’s the same as many others… I found out that my wife was sleeping with someone else. But never mind, let it be.”
There was another video of Nikita that went viral on social media where she could be heard telling Manav sorry. In the undated clip, she confessed to having slept with a man called Abhishek before she got married. She also claimed that her maternal uncle had forced himself on her and revealed that she wanted to save her marriage so she did not tell anything to Manav. For the unversed, reportedly the techie kept asking her about the same many times and Nikita also confessed that she was never beaten by him which contradicted her earlier claims.
What did Manav Sharma’s sister say?
Manav’s family had accused Nikita and his in-laws of harassing the deceased techie during the divorce proceedings. A police complaint was filed by Manav’s dad and Nikita was on the run since then. Manav’s sister, Akanksha Sharma claimed that her brother was pressured and threatened by Nikita. Reportedly, Akanksha claimed that Nikita had warned Manav that if she was given separation his parents would have to suffer due to the same.
