Delhi’s national capital on Monday recorded the highest temperature of the season when Mercury touched up to 40.2 degrees Celsius in the Safodardo area – 5.1 degrees above normal.
The city has already started to worry the heat wave, which is expected to intensify in the coming days.
The thermal wave is announced when the maximum temperature exceeds 40 degrees Celsius and at least 4.5 degrees above normal.

In the last 24 hours, the weather in Delhi and the cities that came to the national region of the capital (NCR), small changes, IMD reports.
The maximum temperature registered in most areas of the capital was 38 to 39 degrees Celsius, while the minimum fluctuated between 19 and 23 degrees Celsius.
While the minimum temperatures are almost normal, the maximum temperatures were higher than the norm by 2 to 4 degrees Celsius in several parts of the Delhi-NCR region, the weather department said.
Weather in other states
In addition to Delhi, it is expected that the conditions of thermal wave will affect several states in Central and Northern India, including Harian, Punjab, Madzha -Pradesh and Western parts of Uttar Pradesh.
