A male fired on a street dog, a rifle, in Ranchi in a busy rifle, in a cruelty incident. The man was arrested after his cruel action was inflamed.
The shocking act was caught in the camera and spread widely on social media, pushing rapid actions by Jharkhand police.
The accused who was recognized as Pradeep Pandey, saw in the viral video, walking on the road by two other men, carrying a gun. When the band approached a few wandering dog road, Pandey had a sudden purpose and shot fire by killing someone dogs.
The incident occurred while several vehicles moved on the road.
The cold bloody murder of the innocent animal caused outrage among people and social media, especially among animal lovers.
Witnesses and residents also expressed concern that the bullet could hit the passerer if the shot was lost. Many questioned the legality of using firearms in the public area and demand actions.
The video was shared by local citizens with high-ranking Ranchi police officials, following which administration noticed the issue.
Rural SP Sumit Kumar Agarwal directed a speedy action to Tatisilva police. Ranchi Dig-Cumar SSP Chandan Kumar Sinha also recognizes and ordered a thorough study of what happened.
During the interrogation, Pandey insisted that the dog was overturned aggressively and injured several people in recent days. He said he had opened a fire to prevent further attacks. He also told police that the rifle used in the incident is licensed.
However, legal experts and animal welfare activists note that the law prohibits killing or damaging wandering animals.
According to the police, killing the street dog is a punishable crime under the prevention of cruelty against animals. If the act has been proven illegally, the accused may threaten up to two years in prison and a finance.
