The Ministry of Health and Family Affairs of the Union has requested an explanation for the disconnection of 11 elevators from the Pgimer administration to the annual maintenance certificates (AMC).
According to the Superintence Hospital engineer (he), Pgimer, Pgimer does not work in Pgimer, and eight lifts have been closed to the agency (OEM) in the institute.
Since April 1, the elevators were not functional in various PGI blocks, causing inconvenience to both patients and health workers.
The main problem was in the research block where most of the diagnostic tests were held, many patients visit Pgimer access to the section for diagnostic tests. Patients closed, including OPD, in the case of OPD, inpatient and consequences, had to use the stairs.
According to the source, maintenance agencies have long announced for elevators, which have resettled, but the Pgimer administration has not taken time, and no program has begun to replace the elevators.
The company also demanded the highest maintenance fee for the rehabilitation of the elevators, but the Pgimer administration did not agree with the demand, due to which the maintenance could not be carried out according to security standards.
Although the elevators of Nehru Hospital have been renovated and returned to use, some need more repairs, and the institute now represents a report to submit a Ministry of Health.
