Taking to her Instagram handle, Shanthi Priya proudly flaunted her bald look. She recently shaved her head, as she expressed how women are often given rules that keeps them caged. The actress stated that with the new transformation, she is setting herself free. A part of her excerpt can be read as:
“I recently went bald and my experience has been quite something. As women, we often set limitations in life, go by the rules and even keep ourselves caged. With this transformation, I have set myself free, free from limitations and intending to break the beauty standards that the world has set upon us and I do it with a lot of courage and faith in my heart!”
Shanthi Priya was dressed up in a brown-toned blazer, which belonged to her late husband, Siddharth Ray. She styled it as a blazer dress with stockings underneath. Her look was completed with matte makeup, smoky eyes and chunky gold earrings. Highlighting her choice of clothing, Shanthi wrote:
“Today, I also carry the memory of my late husband close, in his blazer that still holds his warmth. Sending power and love to all the women out there!”

Shanthi Priya talked about going bald and the fear of being accepted
Recently, in an interview with The Times Of India, Shanthi Priya revealed details about doubting her bald look as the film industry has certain beauty standards attached to women. She stated that heroines are expected to look glamorous and flawless with long and flowing hair. She had fears that her move would impact her work, but she took a leap of faith and decided to make her own choices. She also added that she made a statement by going bald and not fitting into the mould made by the glamour world.

In an interview with Bollywood Thikana, Shanthi Priya revealed that she once asked for work from Akshay Kumar. However, Akshay ghosted her and never replied to the numerous messages she had sent to him. She called the incident heartbreaking. Shanthi Priya also shared an anecdote on how she met him on the sets of his film, Holiday: A Soldier is Never Off Duty. The actress stated:
“When I met him on the Holiday set, he was the same Akshay. I told him that I want to come back, he asked me how I was doing, how my kids were doing. We had a nice half-hour conversation during his lunch break. He introduced me to Sonakshi, and told her that I was his first heroine. So, I told him I was planning to come back, and to let me know if there’s any good thing Akshay said, ‘You know you can’t play a heroine, right?'”
